Campfire Privacy Policy
Read the public Campfire Patch Digest
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This policy explains how the Campfire iOS app, its developer, and this privacy page handle information. In this policy, “I” means the developer of Campfire. For privacy questions, contact tribune_fictive.3u@icloud.com.
Campfire works without a Campfire account. Your saved plans, notes and progress are stored on your device and are not automatically sent to me. The app has no advertising, cross-app tracking, or embedded third-party analytics tools. Internet connections for news, external links and optional feedback emails are described below.
Information stored on your device
Campfire stores saved items, crafting and material plans, owned quantities, quest checkmarks, session notes, reading history, preferences and notification settings on your device. It also caches public news and information about previous refreshes and alerts. This information supports the app’s planning, progress, personalization and offline features.
Campfire does not provide an account-based cloud sync service or automatically upload these records to the developer. Your device’s backup and transfer features may include app data, depending on your Apple and device settings.
News updates and external websites
Campfire downloads the developer’s original patch summaries from the public Campfire Patch Digest, hosted through GitHub Pages. The digest is freely available without an account. Refreshes may happen while the app is open, when you refresh manually, and during permitted background checks for enabled alerts. Turning off notifications does not stop news refreshes while using the app. The current app does not automatically retrieve Blizzard forum post bodies; opening an official source is your choice.
These connections expose ordinary network information to GitHub, such as your IP address, request time, requested public content and an app-identifying request header. Campfire does not include your saved plans, notes, class follows or quest progress in these requests and does not use your Blizzard login. GitHub handles information it receives under its Privacy Statement. Earlier development builds retrieved public forum news directly from Blizzard; those requests were subject to Blizzard’s privacy policy.
If you open a source, guide or video link, the destination website or app handles your visit under its own privacy policy and may use cookies or other tracking technologies. Campfire does not control those services.
Optional notifications
News alerts are off by default. If you enable them and grant permission, Campfire creates local notifications on your device for new or revised Campfire summaries. These are selected editorial updates, not an instant alert for every official post or edit. Notification preferences and alert history are stored locally. Campfire does not send a push-notification device token to a developer-operated server.
You can turn alerts off in Campfire or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings. iOS controls when background checks run.
Feedback and support emails
The feedback button opens your email app with the recipient and subject filled in. It does not send anything automatically or attach your saved data or diagnostic logs. You decide whether to send a message and what to include.
If you email me, I receive your email address, any sender name your email service supplies, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. I use this information to respond, investigate problems and address feedback about Campfire. It is not used for advertising or marketing.
Email is handled by the services used to send, forward and receive messages, including Apple’s email relay for the published contact address and the receiving mailbox provider. Their privacy terms govern their processing and storage. See Apple’s Privacy Policy. Please do not send passwords or other information that is unnecessary for your request.
I keep support correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, then delete it, unless a longer period is required by law. You can request earlier deletion by emailing the contact address above.
Analytics, advertising and sharing
Campfire contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK or separate crash-reporting service. Apple may collect diagnostics and provide crash reports or app statistics through its platform services, subject to its policies and your sharing settings. Any such reports I use are for understanding app performance and improving reliability. See Apple’s Device Analytics and Privacy information.
I do not sell or rent your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Support correspondence is handled through the email providers described above and may be disclosed if required by law. Campfire does not automatically send your saved content to an AI service.
Your choices and deletion
Local personal records remain until you change or remove them, or delete the app’s data. You can manage individual saved records using the controls available in the app. Deleting Campfire from your device removes its local app data; offloading the app preserves its documents and data. Copies in device backups are managed separately through your Apple or backup settings. I cannot remotely access or delete records held only on your device.
For information you have sent me, you may request access, correction or deletion using the contact email above. Where necessary, I may ask for enough information to verify that the request relates to your correspondence. You may also exercise any additional rights provided by applicable privacy law.
This privacy page
This privacy page and the public Campfire Patch Digest, including its JSON feed, are hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, as described in its GitHub Pages documentation and Privacy Statement. These pages do not add analytics scripts, advertising or tracking cookies, and do not require an account or payment.
Children’s privacy
Campfire does not ask users to provide their age or create a personal profile. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support correspondence. If you believe a child has sent personal information, contact me so I can delete it.
Changes and contact
I may update this policy when Campfire’s features or privacy practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
